The Association of Assistant Principal (AAP) is a professional association representing the Assistant Principals of New York City elementary schools, K-8 schools, I.S., M.S. and J.H.S. It is not the same as the Union (CSA).  We are the single largest block of CSA members.  This is a way you can keep the CSA leadership aware of your needs and have a voice on the CSA Executive Board.  We have input to contract items that concern Assistant Principals.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF DEVELOPMENT

At our meetings, we offer speakers from the educational community, book vendors, as well as, welfare advisors, and other experts of importance to you.  You are invited to these meetings and dinner is served.

MINI-CONFERNCE

During the school year the AAP members are invited to mini-conferences at different locations throughout New York City.

The newsletter is filled with pertinent information, websites, and articles geared specifically towards your needs.

EDUCATIONAL-CERTIFICATES

Every year, we send two beautiful Certificates of Special Merit to every elementary and middle school in the five boroughs to be presented at graduation.

MARTIN SAFRAN AWARDS AND DINNER

At this annual dinner, we award each of the 15 students who give service to their school and/or their community a check for $200, a plaque and other prizes.  Invited as guests to this dinner in June are the student, their parent, and their AP who must be a member of the AAP.

STEWART WEINER SCHOLARSHIP

We offer (3) $1000 scholarships to our members' children who are high school seniors and plan to enroll full time in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution of higher learning for the fall semester.  The scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis, depending upon academic performance, extracurricular involvement, civic achievement, school recommendations and the candidates own personal statement.

We are always looking to provide important relevant services to you.  We know there are times when Assistant Principals are under extreme pressures to perform either as a group or as individuals.  It is this Association that can help assure that your needs are being met and your interests are protected.
